Tourist Information Center /TIC/
Results

• Iinventory of the tourist potential (tourist camps, natural sights, cultural and historical facts, human resources);
• Investigation of the house proprietors who can accommodate tourists and guests;
• Investigation of people who will participate in providing a set of tourist services (guides, organizing picnics and barbeques with authentic carts, offering local and national dishes, selling handicraft folk style production, introduction to the local folklore, etc.);
• Publishing advertising materials (cards, brochures, leaflets, etc.);
• Community Center involvement as a local coordinator/partner in the municipality project „Belitsa: The Green Fairytale of the Magic Mountains and the Dancing Bear” under the PHARE Economic and Social Twinning Program, Budget line BG 0202.02 „Development of the Bulgarian eco-tourism”:
• decoration and equipment of premises of 140 square m for the needs of the TIC that amounted to 50,000 BGN;
• implementation of a training system on specificity of eco-tourism for the interested parties;
• participation of the interested parties in training on systems of quality management, environmental management and certification of eco-hotels;
• series of short-term courses for training guides;
• involvement of the local entrepreneurs in developing the business plan of the development of the municipality of Belitsa including tourism as a priority sector;
• advertising and promotional campaign of Belitsa destination and eco-tourist products (brochures in three languages and 3000 copies, 18000 copies of leaflets in three languages, 12 different postcards each of 1000 copies; website with links to local, national and international tourist agencies, connection with big Internet browsers, a CD of 100 copies;
• servicing tourists and visitors to the town and municipality (distribution to private lodgings, organizing entertainments: barbecues, picnics, folklore shows, hiking to nature and cultural heritage sites);
• assistance and organizing initiatives connected with the traditional and alternative tourism;
• participation in national and international markets and exhibitions (through the specialized luxurious tourist information issue KRAS PLUS and at the business and tourist information website www.KRAS.NET);
• partnership in the Sustainable Development of Rural Areas project under the UN Programme of Development PROON and the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry and the Rural Network and Leader programme.
• partnership with the municipality in projects in the field of environment and tourism.

The results and achievements of the TIC are a reliable basis of the TIC further sustainable development. At this stage, the center provides topical information related to tourism and intended for the needs of tourist agencies on a local level, in the town of Bansko and in some tourist centers in the country.
